In the fourth book of this western novel series, Pepper Andrews thinks her life has settled down to a normal pace. Then she realizes she has to prepare for a rocky ride hitched to the unpredictable Tap Andrews. The ranch is gone. They’ve moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming. And Pepper has been feeling poorly. But at least Tap has found a deputy marshal job. But the town’s got little regard for the law. It’s enough to push Tap’s patience and faith to the breaking point. When the city council relieves Tap of his duties, and Pepper of her worries, it’s time to move on. But Tap just can’t let things go.
